History of Targeted Attacks
Since the onset of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military officials have been attacked within Moscow.
This latest event follows other serious incidents, including:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a bomb concealed on a scooter was set off from a distance.
While a informant previously linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such claims are rarely formally acknowledged as a matter of official stance.
The conflict has witnessed clandestine operations reaching into the center of the Russian capital.
The investigation into General Sarvarov's death remains underway.
